Salt Iodization Plant

The process of iodizing salt is a straightforward system where iodine is uniformly mixed with salt to meet the specific parts per million (PPM) requirements set by different countries. Salt iodization plants are typically categorized into two main types:

Fixed Plant

The Raw Salt will be loaded to the feed hopper. The rotary valve fitted to the bottom of the hopper will regulate the flow of required quantity of salt to the raw salt belt conveyor. The salt from the belt conveyor enters the roller crusher for granulating the salt to the required size.

The crushed salt from the crusher will be then feed into the iodization screw conveyor in which the iodine dozing is done by the iodine dozing pump. By this process the iodine is spread equally in salt and this help the salt industries to maintain the required PPM of iodine.

The salt will then be moved to the flat belt conveyor and from the flat belt conveyor to the packing units and the bulk packing section.

Mobile Plant

The Mobile Iodisation Plant proves to be an exceptionally convenient piece of machinery as it offers the flexibility to be transported to various locations for the vital iodization process of salt. This innovative solution allows for salt to be fortified with iodine in any setting, addressing iodine deficiency effectively. Its mobility not only enhances accessibility but also ensures that communities in remote areas can benefit from iodized salt easily.

The salt is directed manually into the feed hopper positioned above the iodine mixer screw, ensuring precise delivery. As the salt moves through the iodization screw, a fine mist of iodine solution is skillfully sprayed onto the salt particles using the iodine dosing pump, facilitating thorough iodization. To conclude the process seamlessly, a chute is strategically attached at the end of the screw to optimize bulk packing efficiency.

Our company is proud to have collaborated with reputable NGOs such as UNICEF, ICCIDD, and Nutrition International to supply over 1000 units for the universal salt iodization program across different continents including Africa, Southeast Asia, and North and South America
